Beginner Bridge Class Series for the Modern Game: April - May, 2018 at The Chateau (Ages 13+)
Based on feedback the District received in our Community Services Master Plan Survey, IVGID will be sponsoring a Beginner Bridge Class Series on Monday evenings this spring at The Chateau. The Beginner Bridge Class Series is designed for newcomers to bridge as well as players who want to update their skills to the modern game. It is suitable for both social and duplicate bridge players. The class will begin with a free introductory session on Monday, April 9, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at The Chateau. Everyone interested in the class is encouraged to attend.
Instructors Ed and Cornelia Gould take an approach to teaching bridge that has been very successful around the world, beginning with the play of the cards using a technique called “Mini Bridge.” From there, they will progress into the basics of bidding. After completing this 6-week course, players should feel confident playing bridge on their own.
