Fall course maintenance schedule & plans

As we get closer to closing day for both the Incline Village Mountain and Championship Golf Courses (Oct. 8 & 22 respectively), our groundskeeping teams will be ramping up their maintenance work with the aim of repairing more of the damage done last winter due to the massive snow loads as well as prepping the courses for the winter ahead.

In the interest of giving our customers as much advance notice as possible, Jeff Clouthier, our Grounds Superintendent, has put together the following tentative fall maintenance schedule.

Week of September 18

  • Aerate Championship Course tees
  • Renovation of Mountain Course #7 bunkers

Week of September 25

  • Starting on Monday, September 25, Championship Course #1 and #4 greens will be closed for aeration and maintenance for the rest of the season. Temporary greens will be used on those holes for the remainder of the season to allow the regular greens to recover and grow before winter without golfer and maintenance traffic.
  • Aerate Mountain Course fairways
  • Drainage projects on Championship Course *
  • Bunker and tee work on Championship Course **

Week of October 2

  • Aerate Mountain Course tees and fairways
  • Drainage projects on Championship Course*
  • Bunker and tee work on Championship Course**
  • Mountain Course closes on October 8

Week of October 9

  • Aerate Championship Course fairways
  • Drainage projects on Championship Course*
  • Bunker and tee work on Championship Course**
  • Replacement of Mountain #16 bridge

Week of October 16

  • Aerate Championship Course fairways
  • Drainage projects on Championship Course*
  • Bunker and tee work on Championship Course**
  • Championship Course closes on October 22

* There will be several drainage projects happening on the Championship Course throughout the rest of the season that will affect play at certain times. Project work will be primarily on holes 2, 3, 4, 5, 10 and 11. Tee markers may be moved to alternate locations to allow work to continue.

** There will also be bunker and tee improvements occurring throughout the rest of the season. Again this will result in moving of tee markers and bunkers being placed as “Ground Under Repair” as work progresses. The pro shop and starter will inform golfers of activity to be aware of each day.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to improve the golf courses and prepare them for winter!
