Spring E.P.I.C. Enrichment Programs

Monday Madness

Led by Miss Joan, this class is all about spring, including stories, songs, science, games, art, crafts, creative snacks & more!  Classes are for four weeks beginning Monday, April 17.  Includes a supervised lunch time.  Snacks are provided but children bring their own lunch.  No nuts please.

Ages: Preschool children aged 3 - 5 years old.  Mature, older 2 year olds may be accepted subject to approval by Miss Joan.  

Day/Time: Mondays 9:30am - 12:30pm for 4 weeks

Session 1: Mondays, April 17, 24, May 1 & May 8

Session 2: Monday, May 22, Wednesday May 31 (Memorial Day Week), Monday June 5 & 12

Terrific Tuesday

Spring Junior Kids on Board

Join us for this fun filled Paddleboard instructional program for ages 6-8, taught by Michael Smith!  Participants will learn the basics of paddleboarding in this 6 week course, and have the option to compete in the Thunderbird Paddle Festival Race June 10th at Sand Harbor. Participants must have IVGID Beach access and be able to swim.

Ages: 6-8 year olds, co-ed

Location: Ski Beach, 967 Lakeshore Blvd.

Days/Dates/Time: Fridays, May 5 - June 9, 2017, 4:15 - 5:45pm

Fees: $187, $150 w/IVGID Pass

Summer Camps

E.P.I.C. Early Childhood Adventure Camps (ages 3-6) - Registration is now open

For our youngest campers, ages 3 - 6, our E.P.I.C. Adventure Camps highlight the connections between art, literature, math and science through hands-on exploration of camp themes. Using a fun-filled interdisciplinary curriculum, stories, songs, art, crafts, science, creative snacks and play are all part of a typical camp day. Campers must be potty trained and able to take themselves to the toilet and able to enjoy a group camp setting. Campers cannot have attended first grade yet.

Loco-Motion Adventure—Things that Go
This week’s camp is crazy about things that GO! Campers will experience and learn about the “how” and “why” of things in motion. We’ll explore what makes things move and have fun with our favorite vehicles and machines like trains, cars, trucks, boats, airplanes and more.

Passport Adventure—Time Travel

A new twist on our popular Passport Adventure, this year campers will journey around the globe via time machine. Expect to meet dinosaurs, knights and princesses, Egyptian mummies and more on this E.P.I.C. travel adventure. Campers may enroll in either Session A or Session B but not both. The content for these weeks is the same.

Amazing Animal Adventure- Currently Taking a waitlist

Amazing animals are everywhere! Farm animals, pets, animals that live in water and wild animals from faraway places, this camp celebrates them all. Our adventure includes a visit from some of the most interesting animals on earth. (Wed. August 2nd is at Aspen Grove)

E.P.I.C. Base Camp

Looking for adventure for the kids this summer?  Base Camp is a fun filled, fast paced environment. While the sun is hot and the lake is cool, there is no better place to be a Tahoe Kid than at Base Camp.  Engaged physically, mentally, and creatively, campers will find it impossible not to make friends and have a great time.  Craft and games will follow weekly themes while campers also experience all that Tahoe has to offer: daily swimming, hiking, golfing, and E.P.I.C. field Trips.  Daily and weekly pricing is available.

E.P.I.C. Specialty Enrichment Camps 

For older elementary students entering 2nd grade and up, Speciality Enrichment camps provide campers with an opportunity for hands-on, in-depth exploration and fun.

Travels Through Time - Ancient Worlds - w/ Natalie Wierzbicki & Patty Franklin

Have you ever wanted to travel around the world?  How about time traveling?  Well here is your opportunity!  This camp travels through time and around the world, exploring food, fun, fashion and facts about ancient worlds.  Supervised lunch time included.  Snacks are provided but campers need to bring their own lunch.

Days/Time: Monday, June 26 through Friday, June 30, 2017, 9am - 3pm

Sensational Sewing w/ Joanne Devine

Learn how much fun sewing can be.  Campers will learn and practice hand and machine sewing skills while completing several fun and useful projects.  Note: projects may vary among campers based on age and ability level.  Supervised lunch time included.  Snacks are provided but campers need to bring their own lunch.  Campers may only enroll in session A or session B.

Kids in the Kitchen w/ Maggie Browder

Kids love being in the kitchen and they will especially love this fun and educational cooking experience.  Campers will learn age-appropriate fundamentals of cooking and have the opportunity to make a wide variety of dishes and treats that are as much fun to make as they are good to eat. Campers will be making a group lunch each day. All dietary restrictions must be reported upon registration in order to provide the best experience for all campers.  Accommodations will be made whenever possible but campers may not be able to eat everything they create. Campers may only enroll in session A or session B.

Session A - Thursday & Friday July 20 & 21, 2017, 9am - 2pm (Campers entering 2nd, 3rd & 4th grades) Currently taking a waitlist

Amazing Animals & Art- Currrently taking waitlist 

Designed for animal lovers, art lovers and also ideal for campers with younger siblings and friends, this camp meets in the same location and collaborates with the Amazing Animals Adventure camp while offering extended art and age appropriate learning activities for younger elementary school students. Supervised lunch time included.  Snacks are provided but campers need to bring their own lunch.  This camp meets with the Amazing Animals Adventure Camp at Diamond Peak and some activities will overlap with the Adventure Campers.

Junior Stand-Up Paddleboard Summer Camp

This camp is designed to help young paddlers develop SUP skills.  You will engage in land-based and water-based training exercises to increase your SUP paddling performance and your overall level of fitness.  You will learn proper paddling fundamentals and water safety awareness.  We will also participate in fun team-building activities and a variety of physical education games and sports.  Participants must have IVGID Beach access and be able to swim.

This camp will combine Stand-Up Paddleboard skills and fitness with a variety of Physical Education activities. You will engage in land-based and water-based training exercises to increase your SUP paddling performance and your overall level of fitness. You will learn proper paddling fundamentals and water safety awareness. We will also participate in fun team-building activities and a variety other outdoor activities including: archery, geo cashing, rock climbing, hand drumming, and more.  Participants must have IVGID Beach access and be able to swim.

USTA QuickStart Youth Tennis Camps (ages 6-12)

Weekly tennis camps focus on stroke production, techniques, match play and tennis rules through specialized activities and drills. The camp also promotes teamwork, sportsmanship and a high emphasis on fun! Camps are taught by certified USPTA instructors. Other activities in the camp may include swimming and other fun games. Daily drop-in option based on space availability. One week sessions.
