Tahoe Water Suppliers Association (TWSA) announces
The 2017 “Future of Water” Scholarship Fund

Applicant must be a senior at a Lake Tahoe Basin High School in CA or NV.

One $500 scholarship is available for award at each of the four Tahoe area public high schools
(Whittell; South Tahoe High School; North Tahoe High School; Incline High School).

Selection Criteria:
The scholarships will be available for a student working toward his/her first undergraduate degree and who is enrolled in a program related to water resources; environmental studies, or sciences for the academic year in which he/she applies for the award. The undergraduate scholarship will be awarded to the student most qualified by academic performance. Measures of academic performance include the cumulative grade point average, relevance of the student’s curriculum to sciences/ environmental studies/ water resources, and leadership in extracurricular activities.

Submission Materials:

  1. 500 Word Essay on “Source Water Protection – Why It Matters”
  2. High School Transcript plus list of extracurricular activities
  3. One letter of reference supporting candidate for scholarship
  4. Other support materials the applicant wishes to provide (resume, awards, volunteer service, etc.)

Deadline: Friday, April 14, 2017 at 5 p.m.

The TWSA selection committee will review all materials.
