The Incline Village Golf Academy, headquartered at the Incline Village Championship Course in North Lake Tahoe, is a cooperative approach to golf instruction that offers a wide range of private and semi-private lesson options, golf clinics, junior golf programs and custom club fitting services. We offer programs designed to involve people from all walks of life in the game of golf, while supporting the PGA of America’s "growth of the game" initiative. 

Our instruction philosophy is to teach each student how to shape their individual swing to produce the ball flight they desire. By learning how to correctly improve the shape of your swing, you will be able to produce a more consistent ball flight, increasing your enjoyment of the game and lowering your score. Video analysis and FlightScope technology is available for all lessons.

Ashley Wood, PGA - Head of Player Development

Ashley Wood was born and raised in Incline Village and is both a Class A PGA Professional and a certified fitness professional. As the Head of Player Development, her new role will involve running the Incline Golf Academy lessons, clinics and programs. Her goals for the season include focusing on her students' development as a golfer by bringing in new coaching experiences on and off the course, enhancing junior golf programs and of course teaching lessons at both courses. Read Ashley's full bio...

Book a lesson with Ashley or register for one of her specialty group clinics to work on your game. 

  • Book lessons and clinics online through Ashley’s PGA Coaching Portal 
  • Specialty Clinics: Several group clinics will be offered throughout the season on various topics so check back often. Register online through Ashley's PGA site under "Upcoming Events". Must register at least 24 hours prior to clinic.
  • Private lessons can currently be booked up to three weeks in advance. If you are looking for something further out or have questions, text her at (775) 386-2788. 
  • Gift certificates for lessons are also available in the golf shop.


Robert Bruce, PGA: Senior Head Golf Professional

After college, Rob moved to Southern California to attend the San Diego Golf Academy.  He worked at the Championship Golf Course from 1996 – 2004 and then continued to expand his knowledge and experience by working at different types of facilities in the area. Rob graduated from the Golf Professional Training Program of the PGA of America and returned to the Championship Golf Course.  His experience over the years includes golf shop operations, tournament operations, junior golf camps, private and group golf instruction and merchandising.

Female Golf Clinics

Learn how to golf, or brush up on your skills, with other women at our Gals on the Green golf clinics. Different topics are taught each session covering the essentials of the game and geared toward women. View 2024 details.

For girls ages 6-12, may also be a Girls on the Green clinic series that is typically held in July and August. 

We typically host a Ladies Chip & Sip golf clinic and mixer during Women’s Golf Week. View 2024 details.

Coed Golf Clinics

Ashley has several new clinics on the schedule for 2024, including some coed clinics - Putting Boot Camp and Whiskey & Wedges. Check the calendar or her PGA portal for dates and details. If the clinic is full, keep checking as more dates may be added throughout the season. 

Get Golf Ready Clinics get golf ready logo

Meet other players with similar playing levels while learning the fundamentals of golf in a fun and unintimidating environment. Get Golf Ready Level 1 is for those who are new to golf or returning after many years. Get Golf Ready is a series designed to teach everything you'll need to play golf in a few lessons. Each lesson will focus on essential golf skills. Topics covered include putting, chipping, short iron shots, long irons, hybrids, fairway woods, driving, course etiquette, and rules. Get Golf Ready Level 2 is available for Get Golf Ready 1 graduates or golfers who have played two or more years. View 2024 details. 

Junior Golf Camps 

Focused golf training for beginner to intermediate golfers, ages 6 - 17 offered during summer break. View 2024 details. 

PGA Junior League 

PGA Jr. League brings friends and family together around fun, team golf experiences with expert coaching from PGA and LPGA Professionals. The program is a healthy activity that gets kids outdoors, and its scramble format builds confidence and encourages sportsmanship among boys and girls of all skill levels. View 2024 details. 

Golf Club Fitting - Putter, Wedges, Irons or Woods   

Attend one of the free fitting events held by different brand reps througout the season. Fitting events are posted in the Golf Events section as they are scheduled. 

Ashley and our other pros are also available to do private fittings for various brands. Brands include TaylorMade, Callaway, PING, Titleist, Cobra and Mizuno. Call the golf shop or schedule an appointment on Ashley's PGA Portal. 

Golf Tips & Drills  - Get into golf or improve your game 

Golf can seem complicated or frustrating to those just starting out or in a rut. The best way to start out or improve is to take a lesson or clinic with a certified PGA Pro and then practice, practice, practice. Our golf professionals have countless hours of playing and teaching experience that can help you start off on the right foot or see exactly what you need to tweak to improve your score. During your lesson you will learn drills tailored to improve your game or fix your bad habits.
