Incline Pickleball Committee Charter
Mission and Purpose Statement
The purpose of the Incline Pickleball Advisory Committee (IPAC) is to assist in developing the Tennis and Pickleball facility into a premiere location that can accommodate the extraordinary growth of pickleball and deliver a top-rated player experience. IPAC will assist the Incline Village Parks and Recreation Director and Head Tennis and Pickleball Pro to prioritize recommendations, assist to quickly move forward the implementation of recommendations, reduce risks, increase the likelihood of success of specific programs and initiatives, and attract funding for specific initiatives.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Solicit input and feedback and serve as a voice for the pickleball community by providing an independent sounding board. Deliver that feedback to the Parks and Recreation Director and Head Tennis and Pickleball Pro.
- Provide recommendations to the Parks and Recreation Director and tennis and pickleball staff which will improve the pickleball experience
- Provide advice to the Parks and Recreation Director on how to optimize revenue opportunities
- Provide advice to the Incline Parks and Recreation Director on how to maintain and enhance the pickleball facilities
- Help promote Incline Village pickleball and attract new players to the facility
- As requested by Parks and Recreation Director and Head Tennis and Pickleball Pro, help arrange/obtain volunteers for tournaments, camps, and other special events
- Help Parks and Recreation Director and Head Tennis and Pickleball Pro to ensure effective planning, monitoring, and strengthening of programs and services.
- Assist Parks and Recreation Director and Head Tennis and Pickleball Pro in determining priorities and important activities.
- As requested by Parks and Recreation Director, help fund facility enhancements and special projects.
- Attempt to resolve any player conflicts related to use of the courts that occur during drop-in hours
Committee Limitations
The IPAC does not have any formal authority to govern IVGID, and the advisory committee cannot issue directives which must be followed nor can they create any legally binding policies. The committee will however be formally recognized by IVGID and the Parks and Recreation Director and Head Tennis Pickleball Pro will see the committee as an important advisory group. The IPAC will conduct monthly meetings with the Parks and Recreation Director and Head Tennis and Pickleball Pro and prepare meeting minutes and action items.
Team Members and Selection Process
IPAC will consist of five individuals performing strictly on a volunteer basis who are committed to improving the Incline Village pickleball experience. The makeup of the committee and the experience and qualifications to serve as a committee member will evolve over time based on feedback from the Parks and Recreation Director, Head Tennis and Pickleball Pro and the Incline Village pickleball community. Members of the Incline Pickleball Advisory Committee (IPAC) serve a two year term. Eligibility to the committee requires applicants to be IVGID Recreation Pass holders and have an active pickleball membership at the Incline Village Tennis and Pickleball Center.
All individuals desiring to volunteer on the committee must complete an application form. Committee selections will be determined and announced by September 30, and the new committee members will become effective on October 1.
Committee Selection Team
The selection team will evaluate all applications for consideration and determine if interviews are necessary and then make selections.
The committee selection team will consist of the following three individuals.
- Tennis and Pickleball Center Head Pro
- IVGID Director of Parks and Recreation
- Pickleball Committee IVGID Trustee representative
