Precautionary Boil Water Notice For The Following Areas ONLY: Lakeshore Blvd: Tramway Rd to 1717 Lakeshore Blvd (east) and all of Steam Circle Cul de Sac.

May 11, 2026

The Incline Village G.I.D.’s water system (PWS ID# NV000158) has had a loss of pressure that could result in contamination of your drinking water.

BOIL YOUR WATER THREE (3) MINUTES BEFORE USING

IVGID’s water system experienced an event that resulted in loss of pressure in the distribution system, which may cause backpressure, back siphonage, or a net movement of water from outside the pipe to the inside through cracks, breaks, or joints in the distribution system that are common in all water systems. Such a system failure carries with it a potential for bacteria or other organisms to enter the water distribution system. These conditions may pose a health endangerment to sensitive people with compromised immune systems.

What should I do? What does this mean?

• If your residence is located within the affected area above, DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST. Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for three minutes, and let it cool before using; or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.

• Inadequately-treated water may cause symptoms such as diarrhea, cramps, nausea, headaches, or other symptoms. It may pose a greater health risk for infants, young children, the elderly, and people with severely compromised immune systems.

• The symptoms above are not caused only by organisms/contaminants in drinking water. If you experience any of these symptoms and they persist, you may want to seek medical advice. People at increased risk should seek advice from their health care providers about drinking this water.

What happened? What is being done?

Experienced a service line break, causing a loss of pressure.
We anticipate resolving the situation by Thursday, May 14th, 2026, by 3:00 pm. Once all required testing has been completed, you will be notified when it is safe to resume using the water as usual.
For more information, please contact the Incline Village General Improvement District Public Works Dept. at 775-832-1203.

Please share this information with all the other people in the affected area who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses). Unless noted above, this notice does not apply to all IVGID water customers.

The Precautionary Boil Water Notice will remain in effect until Thursday, May 14, 2026.
