Moonlight Hikes & Socials

Come for the hike, stay for the experience! Join us for a scenic 1-mile paved-road hike to the Crystal Bay lookout site, sponsored in collaboration with the National Forest Service. Enjoy breathtaking views of the sunset and moonrise. The outing includes transportation, wine, cheese and snacks provided by IVGID Senior Programs. Sign up and enjoy the views, friends, refreshments and fun!

Participants are encouraged to wear warm clothing and bring a flashlight. If you would like to participate, but are unable to hike either or both ways, you may ride in the van to join the group at the top.

  • Who: Seniors 55+ (Adults 21+ welcome)
  • Time: Meet at the Recreation Center at 4:45pm for check-in and be ready for a 5:00pm departure.
  • Daily Fee: $29, $25 with IVGID pass
  • Dates:

    • June 10, 2025: Strawberry Moon
    • July 10, 2025: Buck Moon
    • August 8, 2025: Sturgeon Moon
    • September 7, 2025: Corn Moon
    • October 6, 2025: Harvest Moon

Registration opens May 1 at 9:30am. Pre-registration is required. Register online at Register.YourTahoePlace.com at the Rec Center, or call the Recreation Counter at 775-832-1310.
