First Annual Incline Pickleball Open Tournament

The inaugural Incline Open Pickleball Tournament at the spectacular Incline Village Tennis and Pickleball Center is one not to miss! This is a great tournament for "First Timers", as there is no USAPA association membership required.

Please review the Incline Village Tennis & Pickleball Center Health & Safety regulations prior to attending. This event is subject to cancellation due to changes in restrictions and weather.

August 14, Saturday AM and Possibly PM- Mixed Doubles 3.5
August 15, Sunday AM-Mixed Double 4.0 plus, 2.5,3.0

Open Registration: July 28 – August 8, 2021 | 11:59 pm

SKILL LEVELS:

2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0+  some levels may be merged based on the number of entries

DIVISIONS & FEES:

Divisions will have various start times... either a Morning or Afternoon Start. AM start times between 7:00 - 8:00 a.m., PM start times bewteen 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. **Exact start times announced Tuesday, August 10. The reason for not having this information posted earlier is due to the unknown number of teams that may register. Thank you for your understanding.

Fee: $35 per person per event for IVGIG Picture Pass holders and Tennis & Pickleball Center members. $45 per person per event for the general public. (EVERY PERSON MUST REGISTER - fees are not per team.)

FORMAT:

Round-robin - Our goal is to give all players the maximum number of games. Format may vary between divisions based on the number of entries. E.g. round robin one game to 11, 15, 21, or a best of 3 depending on the size of the bracket.

Participants must sign up with a partner. Each player must register separately.

Team matchups will be randomly selected.

If there are enough players in the mixed 3.5 division for a morning and afternoon pools, start time will be based on the date the team registered. If there are multiple pools there will be a playoff in the afternoon after completion of the last pool, starting approximately 4-5:00 p.m.

Teams will be allowed a warm up prior to the FIRST match. Players should arrive on time or they give up their right for warm up.

USAPA rules of play apply, including drop and let serves.

Divisions with two pools will playoff for a gold medal

Only the Gold Medal Match will have a referee. There will not be line judges. Players in all matches will be responsible for calling lines in accordance with USA Pickleball Rules

SANDBAGGING | OUT OF ONE'S LEAGUE:

It is the athlete's responsibility to register for a division that suits his or her skill level. It is the tournament responsibility to facilitate competitive divisions if at all possible. The tournament hall have the authority to change an Athlete's or Team's registered division for the betterment of the tournament.

CANCELATIONS:

All team cancellations will be assessed a $10 cancellation fee per player regardless of the reason for canceling. Team cancellations must be received in writing via email by Sunday, August 8, 2021 at 11:59 pm. After August 8, 2021, no refunds will be given for cancellations. It is the player’s responsibility to find a replacement partner. Cancellation refunds issued at the completion of the tournament. All decisions of the tournament director are final.

REGISTRATION REFUSAL:

If Incline Village Tennis and Pickleball Center identifies an athlete that violates our good sportsman Code of Conduct, IVTPC reserves the right to refuse registration and or remove an athlete from the event in progress.

PARKING:

There is some parking at the Tennis and Pickleball Center but the primary lot is the back of the Incline Village Recreation Center adjacent to the Tennis and Pickleball Center.

WHAT TO BRING:

For those that never been to the Incline Village Tennis and Pickleball Center, the court complex is above the main building. There is some space for lawn chairs but please do not bring canopies. There is plenty of shade around the courts.

FOOD, SNACKS, DRINKS:

There will be water, and some snacks throughout both days. There is Gatorade, soda, wine, beer and additional snacks available for purchase in the tennis and pickleball shop.

WEATHER:

Tahoe is famous for beautiful summer weather. But just in case we may need to make adjustments to times and formats if the weather impacts setup and/or play. Our plan is to do everything we can to play, and cancellation will be our last resort with first consideration being safety of everyone involved. We will do our best to communicate changes as soon as we can.

MISCELLANEOUS:

Only participants, water bottles and towels, will be allowed on the courts. Bags must be hung on racks outside of the court.

Franklin X-40 ball is the tournament ball.

Medals will be awarded each day for completed events.
