Bocce Drills
Want to be a Bocce Pro? Practice these Drills!
1. Pointing Accuracy Drill
Place the pallino at different distances (short, mid, long) along the court. Roll 4 balls, aiming to stop within 12 inches of the pallino each time. Focus on consistent force adjustment for each distance.
2. Line Control Drill
Lay down a rope or chalk a straight line on the court. Practice rolling balls along this line to train directional accuracy and smooth releases.
3. Shooting Precision Drill
Set an opponent’s ball 2-3 feet in front of the pallino. Practice lofting throws to strike it away while minimizing movement of the pallino.
4. Block and Guard Drill
Place the pallino and roll one of your balls near it. Practice rolling your next ball to stop in front of your first ball, creating a defensive block against opponents.
5. Court Reading Drill
Roll balls diagonally across the court at different force levels to observe how the surface texture and slopes affect roll direction and speed. Note areas of faster or slower roll for strategic use in games.
