IVGID and Washoe County identify fee billing mistake on IVGID customer tax bills
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. (July 15, 2025) – Some Incline Village General Improvement District (IVGID) customers will receive incorrect tax bills this week due to an inadvertent filing error which occurred when IVGID submitted its Recreation and Beach Facility Fees to the Washoe County Treasurer’s Office.
Over ninety percent of IVGID residents are billed for both a Recreation Facility Fee and a Beach Facility Fee, which for this upcoming tax year includes a $720 Recreation fee and a $655 Beach fee respectively – a total IVGID tax bill of $1,375. In the upload files that IVGID provided to the Washoe County Treasurer’s Office, the two fees were mistakenly transposed, meaning affected customers will receive a bill with the incorrect fee amounts listed for the Beach and Recreation Facility Fees. However, most taxpayers’ net taxes due on their tax bill overall is correct at $1,375, and no action is needed. The updated tax bill IVGID customers receive will reflect the correct line amount for each line item.
Approximately 550 IVGID customers do not pay the Beach Facility Fee and thus were likely billed less ($655) on this tax bill than they should have been billed ($720) for the Recreation Facility Fee. Those customers will notice a difference in their updated tax bill.
The Washoe County Treasurer’s office will provide all affected Incline taxpayers with an updated tax bill reflecting the correct amounts for each fee category. Any necessary adjustments will be reflected in the next billing cycle, and some customers will receive an additional amount due.
To avoid late fees or missed payments, residents are advised to pay the full amount shown on the fee coupons at this time.
“IVGID would like to apologize for the confusion that this error may cause for IVGID customers,” said IVGID General Manager Robert Harrison. “Our team is working with the Washoe County Treasurer’s Office to ensure that updated tax bills are sent out in a timely manner and that all taxpayers in our community pay only what they owe.”
