The Incline Village G.I.D.’s water system (PWS ID# NV000158) has had a loss of pressure that could result in contamination of your drinking water.
BOIL YOUR WATER THREE (3) MINUTES BEFORE USING
IVGID’s water system experienced an event that resulted in loss of pressure in the distribution system, which may cause backpressure, back siphonage, or a net movement of water from outside the pipe to the inside through cracks, breaks, or joints in the distribution system that are common in all water systems. Such a system failure carries with it a potential for bacteria or other organisms to enter the water distribution system. These conditions may pose a health endangerment to sensitive people with compromised immune systems.
What should I do? What does this mean?
• If your residence is located within the affected area above, DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST. Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for three minutes, and let it cool before using; or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.
• Inadequately-treated water may cause symptoms such as diarrhea, cramps, nausea, headaches, or other symptoms. It may pose a greater health risk for infants, young children, the elderly, and people with severely compromised immune systems.
• The symptoms above are not caused only by organisms/contaminants in drinking water. If you experience any of these symptoms and they persist, you may want to seek medical advice. People at increased risk should seek advice from their health care providers about drinking this water.
What happened? What is being done?
IVGID is performing water main repairs, anticipated time of the water being restored is 3:30 pm on May 12, 2026.
We anticipate resolving the situation by Friday, May 15, 2026, by 3:30 pm. Once all required testing has been completed, you will be notified when it is safe to resume using the water as usual.
