American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Classes
This sanctioned course encompasses: Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and AED Certifications. All applicants must be able to pass a skills pre-requisite swim test. Must attend all classes and complete all online course work to be eligible for the final exam. If there are any current trainings, they will be posted on the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training web page.

Youth Group Swim Lessons
Swim lessons are offered for a variety of ages and abilities. Programs are designed to follow the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim guidelines.

Youth & Adult Private or Semi-Private Swim Lessons
Private lessons are available with Water Safety Instructors, as well as stroke clinics with our swim coaches. To make a private lesson request, please email the Aquatics Office at aquaticschedule@ivgid.org. All private lessons are subject to availability of instructor staff. Lessons must be paid for in advance; payment must be made at the Recreation Center Counter.
- Fee: ½ hour lesson (one student) $50, $40 w/IVGID Pass or 4 Pack: $184, $138 (w/IVGID Pass)
Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP) Lessons

Youth Water Polo/Spash Ball
Water polo and Splash Ball will provide athletes with a fun and competitive environment to increase their swimming ability as well as overall fitness. Visit the Youth Water Polo page for more information.
Splashes & Glasses - Returning September 20th
Swim, connect, and indulge with other women on Wednesday evenings. The first Wednesdays is designated for beginner swimmers (participants should at least be comfortable in chest-deep water) and the remainder of the month is focused on intermediate and advanced skills. Swim from and then join the group for an optional après swim outing at various locations around town. View more information about the current session on the Splashes & Glasses page.
Swim Around Tahoe
To complete this program you can swim in the pool, the lake or whatever facility you desire. Write down your mileage and we will track your progress. Upon completion of your 71 mile journey, you will receive a t-shirt and your name on “the finishers” plaque at the pool. If you are ready to get in shape, sign up at the Rec Center and get started! Swim Around Tahoe is open to swimmers of all ages and levels with annual registration. Fee: $43, $32 w/IVGID Pass.
